¹⁴ After this, he built the outer wall of the city of David from west of Gihon^(A) in the valley to the entrance of the Fish Gate;^(B) he brought it around the Ophel,^(C) and he heightened it considerably. He also placed military commanders in all the fortified cities of Judah.

²⁶ and the temple servants^(A) living on Ophel^[a](B) made repairs opposite the Water Gate^(C) toward the east and the tower that juts out. ²⁷ Next to him the Tekoites^(D) made repairs to another section from a point opposite the great tower that juts out, as far as the wall of Ophel.^(E)
