⁷ Aaron must burn fragrant incense on it; he must burn it every morning when he tends the lamps.^(A)

⁸ When Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he must burn incense. There is to be an incense offering before the Lord throughout your generations.

³⁶ “Then the king will do whatever he wants.^(A) He will exalt and magnify himself above every god,^(B) and he will say outrageous things against the God of gods.^(C) He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed,^(D) because what has been decreed will be accomplished.

³⁷ He will not show regard for the gods^[a] of his fathers, the god longed for by women, or for any other god,^(A) because he will magnify himself above all.

³ Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way. For that day will not come unless the apostasy^[a] comes first and the man of lawlessness^[b] is revealed, the son of destruction.

⁴ He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god^(A) or object of worship,^(B) so that he sits^[a] in God’s sanctuary,^[b] publicizing that he himself is God.
