²¹ Later, Hezron had sexual relations with the daughter of Machir, Gilead’s father, whom he married when he was 60 years old, and she gave birth to Segub for him. ²² Segub was the father of Jair, who owned twenty-three towns in the land of Gilead, ²³ but Geshur and Aram took Havvoth-jair from them, as well as Kenath and its villages, sixty towns.

All these were descendants of Machir, Gilead’s father.
