⁹ Now Absalom encountered the servants of David. Absalom was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the branches of a massive oak. Then ^(A)his head caught firmly in the oak, and he was ^[a]left hanging between the sky and earth, while the mule that was under him kept going.

³³ And the king said to them, “Take with you ^(A)the servants of your lord, and have my son Solomon ride on my own mule, and bring him down to ^(B)Gihon.

³⁸ So ^(A)Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, ^(B)the Cherethites, and the Pelethites went down and had Solomon ride on King David’s mule, and brought him to ^(C)Gihon.
