Amos 5:7-9

⁷Those who turn justice into wormwood^(A)
also throw righteousness to the ground.

⁸The one who made the Pleiades and Orion,^(B)
who turns darkness^[a] into dawn^(C)
and darkens day into night,^(D)
who summons the water of the sea^(E)
and pours it out over the surface of the earth^(F)—
the Lord is his name.^(G)
⁹He brings destruction^[b] on the strong,^[c]^(H)
and it falls on the fortress.^(I)
