The Creation

1 In the beginning^(A) God created the heavens and the earth.^[a](B)

¹⁵ “People! Why are you doing these things? We are people also, just like you, and we are proclaiming good news to you, that you turn from these worthless things^(A) to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything in them.^[a](B)

⁶ He swore by the one who lives forever and ever,^(A) who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, “There will no longer be a delay,

⁷ He spoke with a loud voice:^(A) “Fear God^(B) and give him glory,^(C) because the hour of his judgment has come.^(D) Worship the one who made heaven and earth,^(E) the sea and the springs of water.”
