Isaiah 1:20-22

²⁰But if you refuse and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword.’^(A)
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.^(B)

²¹The faithful town –
what an adulteress^[a] she has become!
She was once full of justice.
Righteousness once dwelt in her,
but now, murderers!
²²Your silver has become dross to be discarded,
your beer^[b] is diluted with water.
