John 1:42-44

⁴² and he brought Simon to Jesus.

When Jesus saw him, he said, “You are Simon, son of John.^[a] You will be called Cephas”^(A) (which is translated “Peter”^[b]).

Philip and Nathanael

⁴³ The next day Jesus^[c] decided to leave for Galilee. He found Philip^(B) and told him, “Follow me.”

⁴⁴ Now Philip was from Bethsaida,^(C) the hometown of Andrew and Peter.
