¹⁷ For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn^(A) the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

⁴⁶ I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness.

³⁷ “You are a king then?” Pilate asked.

“You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world^(A) for this: to testify^(B) to the truth.^(C) Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”

⁹ God’s love was revealed among us in this way:^[a] God sent^(A) His One and Only Son^(B) into the world so that we might live^(C) through Him.
