The Parable of the Ten Minas

¹¹ As^(A) they were listening to this, he went on to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem,^(B) and they thought the kingdom of God was going to appear straight away.^(C)

¹² Therefore he said, ‘A nobleman travelled to a far country to receive for himself authority to be king^[a] and then to return. ¹³ He called ten of his servants, gave them ten minas,^[b] and told them, “Engage in business until I come back.”
