² In order to accuse^(A) him, they were watching him closely^(B) to see whether he would heal^(C) him on the Sabbath.^{(D) 3} He told the man with the shrivelled hand, ‘Stand before us.’ ⁴ Then he said to them, ‘Is it lawful^(E) to do good^(F) on the Sabbath or to do evil,^(G) to save life^(H) or to kill? ’^(I) But they were silent.^(J)
