2 “The scribes and the Pharisees are seated in the chair of Moses.[a](A)
53 When He left there,[a] the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose(A) Him fiercely and to cross-examine Him about many things;
3 Then the scribes and the Pharisees(A) brought a woman caught in adultery,(B) making her stand in the center.
