¹⁷ So when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Who is it you want me to release for you—Barabbas,^[a] or Jesus who is called Messiah?”^(A)

²² Pilate asked them, “What should I do then with Jesus, who is called Messiah?”

They all answered, “Crucify Him!”^[a](A)

¹¹ Today a Savior,^(A) who is Messiah^(B) the Lord,^(C) was born for you in the city of David.

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael^[a](A) and told him, “We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law (and so did the prophets^(B)): Jesus the son of Joseph,^(C) from Nazareth!”^(D)

²⁵ The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah^[a](A) is coming” (who is called Christ^(B)). “When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”
